United States Ambassador’s visit to the ECOWAS Resident Representative In Cote d’Ivoire

On Tuesday 6 June 2023, Her Excellency Ambassador Fanta Cisse received Her Excellency Mrs Jessica Davis Ba, the United States of America’s Ambassador to Cote d’Ivoire, at the headquarters of the ECOWAS Permanent Representation in Cote d’Ivoire.

Their discussions focused mainly on the various initiatives taken by the US government to support ECOWAS countries, in order to improve the coordination of peace promotion actions and possible frameworks for bilateral and sub-regional cooperation with ECOWAS countries.

The two Ambassadors also discussed ways to strengthen ties between their two diplomatic representations.

While congratulating the ECOWAS Resident Representative for the excellent organisation of the ECOWAS 48^th anniversary celebration, as well as for the actions of her Institution in favour of Member States, Her Excellency Jessica Davis Ba reaffirmed the commitment of the United States to effectively and efficiently support all programmes related to peace, security, and the economic and social development of ECOWAS Member States.

For her part, Her Excellency Fanta Cisse welcomed the initiatives presented, which once again demonstrate the United States’ constant support for ECOWAS and its Member States.
