ROLE OVERVIEW
Under the Head of Mission Support Component, the incumbent provides operational Logistics support to the Mission Support Component of ECOWAS PSOs.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the smooth operation of ongoing administrative functions including work environment, space, equipment, and information retrieval systems.
- Assist the Head of Mission Support in the smooth operation of ongoing administrative and budgeting functions including work environment, space, equipment, and information retrieval systems.
- Manage the flow of information by screening and prioritizing all incoming correspondence, ensure that outgoing information are dispatched in a timely manner and independently handling a wide range of information requests and inquires in consultation with the Head of Mission Support.
- Disseminate information to staff regarding office administrative and budgetary procedures, processes, and practices.
- Carry out operational activities which have been identified by superiors.
- Assist the Head of Mission Support Component in the Management of Staff presence, absence, sickness, and leaves.
- Carry out any other tasks as may be assigned.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor degree (or Equivalent) in Management, Human Resources, Law, Sociology, Administration or related field.
· 5 years of progressively responsible experience n project management, logistics and human resource management.
· Experience in PSOs and at least five (5) years’ experience in sub-saharan Africa.
· Knowledge of and ability to conduct in-depth studies and reach conclusions on possible causes and solutions to political issues/problems in specific areas/countries of the ECOWAS community.
· Must have previous specialty and employment experience in integrated logistics support.
· Demonstrates technical competence to relate to various issues and perspectives to political, social, economic, and humanitarian programmes requirements/capacities of member-states.
· Demonstrates professional competence and mastery of subject matter.
· Have at a minimum of one year experience in a UN or AU PSO mission.
