20 Jan, 2026ECOWAS HOLDS TECHNICAL REVIEW OF SECOND PILOT VERSION OF WEB-BASED PLANNING, MONITORING AND EVALUATION SYSTEM
Abuja, Nigeria – The ECOWAS Commission, through its Directorate of Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (SPME), in collaboration with the Directorate of External Relations, is convening a Technical Review Meeting of the Second Pilot Version of the ECOWAS Web-Based Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) System.
The meeting brings together representatives from ECOWAS Directorates, Institutions, Departments and Agencies to conduct an in-depth technical and operational assessment of the enhanced PME platform. The overall objective is to ensure that the system is fit for purpose, fully aligned with ECOWAS operational workflows, and enjoys broad-based institutional buy-in ahead of its final deployment.
Specifically, the meeting aims to demonstrate the improved features and functionalities of the second pilot version, highlighting how feedback from the first pilot phase has been incorporated. Participants will provide structured input on the system’s usability, workflow integration, data entry processes, and reporting capabilities. The review will also assess the platform’s alignment with the ECOWAS strategic planning cycle, results-based management framework, and reporting requirements.
In addition, the meeting will support the further population of the platform with data on ECOWAS projects, locations, and strategic objectives, while identifying any remaining gaps, technical bugs, or refinements required before the final pre-deployment iteration. A key outcome will be the development of a clear roadmap for the system’s operationalization, including residual improvements, timelines, key activities, and capacity-building needs.
The expected outcome of the meeting is a technically enhanced and institutionally validated PME platform, strengthened through expert inputs, and ready for a final pilot phase ahead of full-scale rollout across ECOWAS. The initiative underscores the Commission’s commitment to strengthening evidence-based planning, effective monitoring, and results-oriented decision-making in the implementation of ECOWAS programmes and projects.
