06 Mar, 2026

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), through its Directorate of Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (SPME), has launched a five-day capacity-building training programme for SPME Focal Points drawn from ECOWAS Institutions and Agencies.

The training, themed “Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation for SPME Focal Points from ECOWAS Institutions and Agencies,” is held at Limeridge Signature Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. The programme is organised in two batches: Batch A from 2nd – 6th March 2026 and Batch B from 3rd – 7th March 2026.

The initiative brings together 52 representatives from ECOWAS Institutions, Departments, and Agencies, with the aim of strengthening their capacity to apply harmonised processes and tools for planning, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation across the ECOWAS system.

Through this training, ECOWAS seeks to enhance institutional effectiveness, improve results-based management practices, and promote greater accountability and performance tracking in the implementation of regional programmes and projects.
